Bookshelf is an interactive reading mode. Read a story in Chinese, make choices that shape what happens, tap unfamiliar words to see their pinyin and translation, save useful words to your basket, and send them to the worksheet setup. Different choices can lead to different endings and unlock story stickers.
There are three stories with eighteen endings in total. Office Help has four endings and Four Cities Over Coffee has eight; both stories are free. The upper-intermediate story Before the First Frost adds six endings with Pro.
Ink Rush is a handwriting-memory mode built around 60-second rounds and three lives. Work through Today’s 5—five words selected for your progress—and revisit characters when they are due for review. New characters appear with tracing, while familiar ones are written from memory.
Free includes two timed rounds per day. Pro includes unlimited timed rounds. With Pro, the first three timed rounds each day can award Ink Drops; later rounds are for practice without Ink Drops.
If Today’s 5 is unfinished, Finish Today’s 5 lets you complete the remaining items without a timer or lives. This option remains available after the free timed-round limit is reached.
Yes. Add stroke-order guides to supported worksheets, with guide cells placed before the practice rows. These are writing references rather than automatic assessment of your worksheet handwriting.
Ink Rush separately checks stroke order and direction as you write during its rounds.
Yes. On iPad, save your handwritten practice as a separate filled PDF while the original clean worksheet remains available for another round. When iCloud is available, the latest saved filled version can sync across your devices.
Open the app each day to continue your streak and collect 5 Ink Drops. Creating a worksheet adds 20 Ink Drops for each of the first three worksheets that day, while eligible Ink Rush rounds award Ink Drops as you write.

When iCloud is available, Copybook Club syncs worksheet records—the content and settings needed to recreate them—saved filled Apple Pencil PDFs, Ink Drops and daily reward limits, current and longest streak, current level, opened stickers, and Ink Rush progress including Today’s 5, review history, and completed rounds.
Clean PDFs are not uploaded merely because you export them. Mode selection, source choices, and app settings do not sync.
The interface, Word Pack translations, and Bookshelf story translations are available in English, Russian, Latin American Spanish (Mexico), and Thai. The Chinese learning material remains in Simplified Chinese.
Free includes three worksheet generations per seven-day period, with up to two pages per worksheet. The period starts with the first worksheet you create; it is not a calendar week.

Original Lifetime Pro: you keep Pro features and all paid Word Packs, including future packs.
Original monthly subscription: you keep Pro features and access to all paid Word Packs during its active paid period. If that plan expires, access provided by that subscription ends.
Any packs you bought individually remain available independently of your Pro subscription.
Make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account used for the original purchase, then use Restore Purchases in the app. An internet connection is required.
Restored access depends on the purchases you own and whether a subscription is still active. Restoring a separately purchased Word Pack does not activate Pro.
Core worksheet generation, Bookshelf story text, and Ink Rush work on your device. Some Bookshelf artwork is downloaded when needed and cached locally, so a connection may be required the first time an illustration is opened. If artwork is unavailable, you can continue reading the story.
Purchases and purchase restoration require a connection. iCloud sync updates when the required connection and iCloud access are available.
